Forecast Snow Stability: New unstable windslab will be deposited in sheltered areas above 800 metres, initially mainly on North-West to North-East aspects then during the day mainly on North through East to South-East aspects. Fresh cornices will be fragile. The surface of the existing snowpack will refreeze. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: After midnight Southerly winds will increase to strong and then veer Westerly soon after dawn. The freezing level will be around 600 metres, lowering further during the afternoon. A period of snowfall is expected during the second half of the night; snow showers continuing through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Winds were moderate mainly North-Westerly. There were some light showers falling as snow above around 800 metres. The freezing level was around 850 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The existing snowpack continues to consolidate and is generally stable. Greatest accumulations lie on North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. There is a dusting of new snow above 800 metres, but accumulations were not significant. The avalanche hazard is Low.
