Points saillants

Lees snow materialized than anticipated. Riding conditions should be quite good. Be watchful on slopes that are exposed to big triggers (cornices) and as always, avoid the thin areas.

Avalanche Summary

No avalanches observed or reported today.

Snowpack Summary

Accumulated storm snow from the last 3 days amount to as much as 20cm. This overlies sun crusts to ridgetop and temperature crusts below 1500m. The mid-pack in this area is generally strong, although the base of the snowpack consists of weak facets in thin areas (<2 m).

Weather Summary

A mix of sun and cloud, with the potential for local convective flurries on Tuesday. Accumulations will be minimal. Valley temps are expected to remain at or below zero. Alpine will be near -13. The wind is expected to be light from the SE.

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • Avoid shallow, rocky areas where the snowpack transitions from thick to thin.
