Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist avalanches being released will increase a little on rocky sunny slopes at intermediate and high altitudes.

The wind slabs are easy to recognise can be released in isolated cases at their margins. This applies in particular in case of a large load. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface. Even a small snow slide can sweep snow sport participants along and give rise to falls.

Snowpack Structure

The backcountry touring conditions are generally favourable. The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. Faceted weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on steep north facing slopes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
