Avalanche Activity

As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day there will be only a slight increase in the danger of moist avalanches.

The snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche prone locations are rather rare and are easy to recognise. The weather will be mild. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be an increase in the danger of moist avalanches within the current danger level. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes, as well as at the base of rock walls.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface, in particular on sunny slopes, as well as on shady slopes below approximately 2000 m. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack. From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
