Problèmes avalancheux

  • New snow· Après-midi

    • Above 2,300 m

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a strong crust. In particular in the regions that are exposed to the foehn wind light precipitation. In particular on sunny slopes as well as at low and intermediate altitudes from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

Tendency

Slight increase in danger of dry and wet avalanches as a consequence of the precipitation.

Avalanche Activity

In some localities light precipitation: Down to intermediate altitudes snow will fall.

The early morning will see favourable conditions generally. As the day progresses as a consequence of the precipitation there will be only a slight increase in the danger of dry and moist avalanches. Individual gliding avalanches can also occur. This applies especially on steep grassy slopes. In the course of the day in some localities danger level 2 (moderate) will be reached in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation.
