Forecast Weather Influences: Rain in the evening followed by occasional showers during the day. Fresh West-South-Westerly winds. The freezing level will remain above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry morning with strong Southerly winds. The freezing level was above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is thawing and consolidating and stability is good. Greatest accumulations of both the old firm snowpack and the more recent soft, wet snow are on North to East aspects above 900 metres. Remaining cornices are prone to collapse.
