Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It is expected to remain dry with very light winds, North-East winds overnight and backing North-West during the day. Summit air temperatures will be -2 to -3C. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cold dry day with very light variable winds. ObservedSnowStability: There is an insignificant dusting of recent snow above around 850 metres. The patchy old snowpack is firm and generally stable. Greatest accumulations lie on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
