Points saillants

At the upper elevations some potential may persist for high marking snowmobilers or multiple snowmobiles on the same slope to trigger slab avalanches up to three feet in depth on some very steep avalanche prone slopes. Avalanches are unlikely below an elevation of 8,500 feet.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Dry and calm conditions will prevail during the next 24 hours. Expect increasing clouds on Saturday with temperatures rising into the 20s from overnight lows in the low teens in the mountains and near zero in the valleys. Winds will be southwest to west at 13 to 18 miles per hour.Mostly stable snow exists in the Teton Area where the general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Faceted snow near the base of the snowpack remains a concern in the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and Southwest Trails/Greys River Areas where the general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE above an elevation of 8,500 feet.
