Avalanche Summary

You could trigger avalanches where cohesive slabs of recent snow sit on top of weak snow. The most dangerous slopes are where winds drifted snow into thick, firm slabs. The most dangerous slopes face north to northeast through east, but you may find reactive drifts on other slopes, especially above treeline. Drifted snow may feel stiff or crack under your weight. If you experience collapsing or cracking, you can choose safer terrain by moving to slopes less than about 35 degrees in steepness
