Avalanche Summary

Traveling on northerly and easterly-facing slopes above treeline with stiff, wind-drifted snow over weaker snow increases your chance to trigger a small avalanche. Wind-loaded slopes with around a foot of new or drifted snow are the most concerning and could produce a larger avalanche. Use caution traveling near lens-shaped pillows of snow below ridgelines, in gullies, or on the back side of rollovers. Adjust your travels to lower-angled terrain or southerly-facing slopes if you observe signs of unstable snow like surface cracking or hear audible collapses.
