Togwotee Pass
Danger d’avalanche
Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is LOW. The existing early season snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely except on very steep upper elevation slopes where drifted new snow lies upon crusty old snow surfaces. In these areas there is some potential for humans to trigger isolated pockets of shallow soft slab up to 12 inches deep.
Avalanche Discussion
( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Skies will be partly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Mountain temperatures will rise into the teens to low 20s. Winds will be northwesterly at 10 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. At the higher elevations (9,000 to 10,500 feet) isolated pockets of soft slab six to 12 inches in depth lie upon crusty old snow surfaces. Some potential may exist for humans to trigger small avalanches on very steep slopes. Avalanches are unlikely at the mid elevations (7,500 to 9,000 feet).
