Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is LOW. A slight chance remains for skiers and riders to trigger a surface slab up to foot deep in steep, shaded, avalanche-prone terrain. Limited potential may persist for larger avalanches to occur in extreme terrain, especially for large triggers such as high marking snow machines.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Mountain snow and valley rain will begin Wednesday evening and continue into Thursday morning before tapering during the day. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the mid-20s before rising to near freezing in the afternoon. Southwesterly ridgetop winds will veer to the northwest at 15 to 25 miles per hour.Mostly stable snow exists and the general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Thursday. In isolated area, a remote chance persists for large triggers, such as snowmobiles, to release a hard slab up to three feet deep in very steep, avalanche-prone terrain.
