Avalanche Summary
Most slopes are safe from avalanches. The few slopes where you might be able to trigger an avalanche are where you find wet, cohesionless snow on a slope generally steeper than about 40 degrees. If you notice your feet, skis, or machine sink deep into the snow and it feels moist or wet to the touch, avoid very steep slopes.
