Points saillants

Mostly stable snow exists at all elevations in the Tetons in the morning hours. At low and mid elevations the snowpack is warm and weak beneath the surface crusts which set up overnight. This crust will soften and weaken rapidly as the day warms and steep areas with a shallow snowpack could release to the ground. Avoid travel on or below these slopes in the afternoon.
