Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is HIGH today. Strong winds and heavy snow have formed slabs up to three feet in depth on wind loaded slopes and in cliff areas. These slabs lie on slick crusts and weak faceted snow and could easily be triggered by skiers, snowmobilers or boarders. Yesterday many slides to three feet in depth were released at all elevations. At lower elevations slabs to two feet could be released on steep banks and in gullies. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended today.
