LO for 5/1 Localised windslab NE to SE above 1100m, generally shallow and limited in extent. Soft stable snow elsewhere. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected. A few localised areas of windslab will persist at the tops of North-East to South-East aspects above 1100 metres. These areas will generally be shallow and limited in extent. Some small fragile cornices will exist above these locations. Elsewhere there will be a thin covering of soft stable snow. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Cold and dry, the freezing level will be around 450 metres. Light South-Easterly winds will back North-Easterly and gradually increase in strength to become strong by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: Cold and dry with fresh South-Westerly winds. The freezing level was around 600metres. ObservedSnowStability: Some localised areas of windslab exist at the tops of North-East to South-East aspects above 1100 metres. These areas are generally shallow and limited in extent. Elsewhere there is a thin covering of soft stable snow. The avalanche hazard is Low.
