LO for 2/3 Generally stable snowpack with localised windslab instabilities mainly in wind sheltered gullies above 1000m. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Snowpack stability will remain generally good. Localised windslab will be present mainly in wind sheltered gullies above 1000 metres. Snow slopes exposed to the sun will soften during the day. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be dry with increasing South-Easterly winds. Snow will remain frozen above 600 metres for much of the period, warming later on Wednesday afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry and mainly sunny day with light summit winds. The freezing level was around 800m. ObservedSnowStability: The old snowpack, which has been exposed to the recent winds, is frozen and stable. Some fresh windslab accumulations are present but these are generally restricted to wind sheltered gullies above 1000 metres. Snow exposed to the sun has started to soften. The avalanche hazard is Low.
