Points saillants

The storm that dropped over 20 cm in the Icefields area on Wednesday will slowly clear out by Thursday afternoon. Skiers and boarders should avoid steep loaded slopes to allow this new snow to settle and bond to the snow beneath it.

The 20 cm of snow that has fallen in the Icefields area was accompanied by strong SW winds creating slab conditions on lee slopes. It will take a few days for these new slabs to bond.

    • Sous la limite forestière
    Probabilité
    Unlikely - Possible

This layer has not been active for a while now. It has now been loaded by the 20+ cm of new storm snow and continued SW winds. Big slopes that have not yet slide this winter should be avoided.
