Points saillants

Although we have snow in the forecast for Tuesday, I don't anticipate that we will get enough to create dangerous avalanche conditions.  Current snow forecasts are only calling for an inch and a half of new snow by Tuesday evening.  If by some miracle we get a lot more snow, I would start being wary of wind drifted snow on East slopes.

Avalanche Discussion

A very warm weekend followed by cold temperatures on Monday, put an end to our Wet avalanche problems.  On Monday the greatest hazards that I saw were very icy slopes (I switched from skins to boot crampons on a slope that was probably 12 degrees!), and then large icy chunks of old debris.  With small amounts of new snow in the forecast I'll be targeting low angle slopes that collect the most of the new snow.
