Snow cover is now mostly confined to North-West through North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres, with only patches remaining below this level, which will continue to thaw throughout Wednesday. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Southerly winds will increase through Tuesday night to become very strong. Light rain is expected during the day with the freezing level remaining well above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with the freezing level rising steadily to above the summits. Moderate Westerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: A trace of new snow fell overnight down to 650 metres, much of this disappearing through the daytime. The snowpack is firm, icy and stable in all locations.
