New wind slabs measuring 5 to 20 cm formed under the influence of winds from Thursday to Friday morning. On Thursday, they proved reactive to tests and to skiers passing by at Mont Albert. On Friday, they were more resistant in tests.
In some places, they rest on a thin crust, which can increase their sensitivity to triggering. They may also be found above harder, more cohesive slabs.
These slabs are mainly observed in areas of lateral loading on southeast-facing slopes, as well as under convexities and near ridges on south-facing slopes.
