Points saillants
Heavy new snow, with high winds has fallen onto lighter density snow from past days. Sensitive soft slabs to two feet in depth have been created at upper and mid elevations. These slabs could be easily triggered by backcountry users today, particularly on steep leeward slopes and in cliff areas, and not necessarily by the first person on the slope. Reports continue to come in of skiers being caught in slides. Sunday someone was swept over a cliff in Rock Springs Bowl near Teton Village by a small slide triggered by a companion, he was not injured. Avalanches at lower elevations are unlikely today where little snow was received.
