Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE and will increase to CONSIDRABLE above the 8,000 foot level in the afternoon. Strong southwest winds have formed pockets of soft slab up to two feet in depth. These slabs lie upon a weak layer of faceted snow and will be easy to trigger. Natural avalanche activity is possible in upper elevation starting zones as new snow and wind continue to load these slabs and increase the hazard.
