Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions exist on northeast, east, and southeast-facing slopes near and above treeline. New snow and strong winds are building dangerous slabs. Avoid travel on and under slopes steeper than about 30 degrees in these areas. Looks for signs of recent wind-loading, such as fresh cornices below ridgelines, shooting cracks in fresh drifts, smooth rounded pillows of snow, or a hard, sculpted snow surface to identify potentially dangerous spots. Stick to lower elevation and wind-sheltered terrain.
