Avalanche Summary

Dangerous avalanche conditions will develop Wednesday. Heavy snowfall and strong southwest winds will create deteriorating avalanche conditions as the day progresses. You can trigger a dangerous avalanche anywhere you find about ten inches or more of new or wind-drifted snow. The most dangerous terrain will be near and above-treeline slopes facing northwest though northeast to southeast, where deeper slabs of wind-drifted snow can more easily overload weak layers. Strong winds may drift snow further down on slopes than is usual, and into open areas below the treeline. Stick to slopes less than thirty degrees without steep terrain above for safer options.
