Points saillants
Overnight temperatures stayed above freezing at the low elevations and are expected to quickly rise above freezing at all elevations this morning. The snowpack is expected to quickly soften in the morning hours. The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE in the morning and will increase to CONSIDERABLE as the day warms. Wet slides are possible at all elevations with some events stepping to the ground. Beware of weakening cornices which may fall onto slopes causing avalanches. Large avalanches were reported on Brooks Mountain on Thursday morning due to such cornice failure.
