Points saillants
At the mid and upper elevations southwest winds have formed new soft slabs up to three feet in depth. Potential bed surfaces buried within the snowpack include suncrust, raincrust and weak layers of faceted and lighter density snow. These surface slabs were easily triggered on steep wind loaded aspects yesterday. At the lower elevations isolated pockets of soft slab to 18 inches were triggered yesterday. Avoid avalanche prone terrain, cliff areas and terrain traps.
