At mid and upper elevations backcountry travelers may trigger slides on steep, northerly slopes that saw little travel prior to the recent snow cycle. Overnight winds have transported more snow onto lee slopes near ridgetops creating pockets of instability. Forecasted snow with rain at lower elevations will increase the hazard through the day at all elevations.
