Problèmes avalancheux

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,400 m

Avalanche Activity

In these regions the avalanche situation is generally favourable.

More recent wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on northwest to east to southeast facing aspects and generally at elevated altitudes. The more recent wind slabs are to be bypassed in very steep terrain. In particular in the regions with a lot of snow and on sunny slopes more small and medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. These can occur in particular in starting zones where no previous releases have taken place.

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last six days. The snowpack will be well bonded below approximately 2000 m. In isolated cases new snow is lying on a hard crust. In all regions only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.
