Points saillants

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. A weak unstable snowpack exists on steep slopes. Yesterday a snowmobiler who got stuck on a west aspect on the approach to Jules Bowl near Brooks Lake was seriously injured in an avalanche. The slope failed when another rider drove up the slope to provide assistance. Similar incidents are possible on steep slopes today especially as temperatures warm. Humans who venture onto steep slopes could trigger deep hard slab avalanches to the ground. These dangerous slab avalanches may fail after a slope has been crossed multiple times or be triggered by the first human to cross a slope.
