Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Soft slabs up to one foot in depth formed during a system two days ago on leeward aspects. These slabs lie on slick crusts and could be triggered by snowmobilers, skiers, and snowboarders today. These shallow slabs are large enough in area to produce significant volumes of debris and have the potential to pull out deeper layers of weak faceted snow in areas with a shallow snowpack. The probability to release these slabs as well as wet slides will increase today at all elevations as significant warming occurs. Avoid steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones, steep banks, gullies and terrain traps.
