Points saillants

Soft surface slabs up to 4 feet in depth continue to be triggered naturally and by skiers at mid and upper elevations. These slabs are likely to be triggered today on steep, wind loaded aspects and in cliff areas. Over the past four days there have been several avalanches on northeast aspects involving caught, buried, injured or killed skiers. Yesterday a skier was caught in a four foot deep slide in the Rock Springs drainage after he jumped 50 feet off a cliff onto an ideal starting zone. Point slides are possible this afternoon on steep sunlit aspects. Travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended today.
