Points saillants
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Strong southwest winds and new snow have formed DANGEROUS dense slabs up to 3 feet in depth on wind loaded aspects. Numerous slab avalanches have been triggered by skiers and riders and several close calls have occured. Self rescue skills and equipment are essential for travel in avalanche prone terrain today. High marking riders should be especially aware as steep slopes may release even after they have been crossed by numerous other people.
