Avalanche Summary

With no evidence or reports of slab avalanches lately, it's unlikely, but not impossible that you could trigger a slab avalanche on a steep northerly-facing slope. If you or your snowmobile punch through the upper snowpack into dry weak snow near the ground, then avoid steep slopes nearby.

Wet avalanche concerns decrease for the next couple of days as strong winds help keep snow surfaces a bit cooler, for a longer portion of the day. Look for safer route options on slopes with refrozen or lightly sun-softened crusts. Move away from steep sun-warmed slopes by the time you sink past your ankles, or see fresh roller balls.
