Points saillants

The possibility continues for backcountry travelers on steep slopes to trigger slab avalanches with depths to three feet. Moderate hazard with a chance of starting hard to predict, dangerous slab avalanches requires good snowpack evaluation skills and conservative judgment when contemplating travel in high consequence terrain.

Persistent slabs rest on weak, faceted snow over good sliding surfaces. Dangerous slab avalanches to three feet in depth could be triggered by riders and skiers in steep, avalanche terrain. Some steep slopes may be crossed multiple times before an avalanche is released. Expected warming temperatures will make triggering slides more likely.
