South and North aspects will also be affected due to cross-loading. Coire rims, gully tops and steep terrain where snow gains depth and overlies the old snow pack will be most affected. Forecast Weather Influences: Gale force West-South-West winds overnight will veer West-North-West by the end of the day. Scattered snow showers throughout the forecast period will be heavier in the early hours of the morning, lying to around 400m by end of day. The freezing level will be around 300-400 meters briefly rising to 600 metres early morning. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight, showers fell as rain to all levels. Squally showers continued through the day, at times heavy and falling as snow, initially 700 metres, then lowering to around 300 metres. Very strong to Gale force West-South-West winds. The freezing level was above the summits overnight then lowered through the day to around 400 meters. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has continued to slowly consolidate during the morning and stability is generally good. However, fresh accumulations of unstable windslab are developing on mainly North-East to East aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
