Forecast Snow Stability: There will be a general dusting of new snow above 700 metres, with most snow accumulating in sheltered North-East to South-East aspects, although not in significant amounts. The sparse and patchy old snow will refreeze and will be well bonded, firm and stable throughout. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be a day of wintry showers with snow lying mostly on bare ground, generally above 700 metres. The Westerly gales will gradually moderate throughout the period. The freezing level will dip to 700 metres by daybreak rising to 800 metres through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Patchy drizzle and summit cloud in the morning. Rain and strengthening Westerly winds by midday and a significant rise in air temperature as the freezing level quickly rose well above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Little change observed. There remains a very sparse and patchy, slowly thawing snowpack. The snow patches are well consolidated and stable throughout. Most hills are bare. The avalanche hazard is Low.
