Wet snow
- Above 1,700 m
Moist and wet avalanches are the main danger.
Moist and wet avalanches are the main danger.
Especially on steep sunny slopes individual mostly small wet slab avalanches are possible above approximately 1900 m. The prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase from the late morning. Moist avalanches can additionally in isolated cases be released, mostly by large additional loads.
The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. The older wind slabs are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at high altitudes. The weather conditions will give rise to thorough wetting of the old snowpack in particular on sunny slopes. On steep slopes and at high altitude the likelihood of wet avalanches will increase during the day.
