Tricky conditions exist. Sporadic natural activity to size 2.5 on the Valentines surface hoar layer today, and lots of smaller skier triggered slides, mainly at treeline. This condition will exist for the foreseeable future, so pull in the reigns. SH

Touchy, thin surface wind slabs in lee terrain of ridgetops have been observed, and in some cases may trigger the deeper surface hoar weakness. Light winds and clearer skies Monday will not add to these problems.

35-55cm at treeline of settled snow sit atop the widespread Valentines surface hoar, and sun crusts on steep S. aspects. Easy to Mod shears were found in Yoho at treeline , with settlements and remote triggering of small rolls in gladed terrain.
