Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of the rain the prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses. Down to 1400 m snow will fall from the afternoon over a wide area.

The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field, so that the avalanche danger should be investigated especially thoroughly in the relevant locality. As a consequence of the precipitation, the likelihood of dry and wet avalanches being released will increase in all aspects. Dry and wet avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even medium-sized ones. The avalanche prone locations are to be found also at the base of rock walls and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

Snowpack Structure

The weather conditions will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack. Some snow will fall from the afternoon over a wide area.

Tendency

Over a wide area new snow.
