Problèmes avalancheux

  • New snow

    • Above 1,600 m
  • Gliding snow

    • Below 1,500 m

Avalanche Activity

The new snow represents the main danger.

Over a wide area 40 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last two days above approximately 1700 m. Over a wide area up to 20 cm of snow will fall on Sunday. At high altitude and in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent. The fresh wind slabs can be released even by a single winter sport participant at elevated altitudes.

Snowpack Structure

The new snow can be released by a single winter sport participant in particular on steep shady slopes. As a consequence of a sometimes strong wind, easily released wind slabs formed. Gliding avalanches are possible below approximately 1700 m. In particular at low altitude a little snow is lying.
