In eastern ravines you’ll find isolated small wind slabs on steep slopes. These wind slabs are well settled from warm temperatures and likely unreactive, however rising temperatures today bring wet snow avalanche problems to the table. Wet snow above your boot tops may slide as a small sluff under your feet or larger mass of wet snow. You’ll be able to spot and avoid the clean white wind slabs easily against the old grey snow surface. On the west side or northern parts of the range, watch out for potentially larger slabs that may be lurking behind terrain features.
