Forecast Snow Stability: The existing windslab will consolidate slightly. However, fresh unstable deposits will accumulate overnight and during the day. Significant accumulations will be found in sheltered locations above 900 metres mainly, but not exclusively, on North to East aspects. Fresh cornices above these aspects will be unstable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.
Forecast Weather Influences: Southerly winds will veer North-West through the period. Overnight snow showers will ease through the day. The freezing level will be around 600 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snow turned showery through the day. The freezing level was generally around 1000 metres although sometimes dropping to 700 metres during snow showers. Southerly winds veered to the South-West and eased through the day. ObservedSnowStability: Fresh areas of unstable windslab have been deposited on mainly North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Fresh cornices above these aspects are unstable. Below 900 metres the snowpack tends to be damp and stability is better. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
