Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: High pressure continues to bring dry and settled conditions. There will be partly clear skies overnight, becoming cloudy during the day with sunny spells. The freezing level will be above the summits. Moderate Southerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: Dry throughout the forecast period. Clear skies overnight resulted in a surface frost to lower elevations. Sunny during the day with the freezing level above the summits and light variable winds. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is continuing to consolidate and stability is good. Surface layers refroze overnight and then softened during the day on southerly aspects while remaining mostly firm on Northerly slopes. Any remaining cornices became more unstable as the day progressed. The avalanche hazard is Low.
