Avalanche Summary

Easterly-facing slopes at upper elevations are the most dangerous areas. You can trigger an avalanche where you find more than a foot of drifted snow. Even a small avalanche could create enough mass to trigger a large avalanche like this one around Cameron Pass. Don’t let tracks on a slope lull you into a false sense of security; you could find the thinner portions and trigger a large and destructive avalanche. Seek wind-sheltered slopes and slopes less than about 30 degrees for safer travel options.
