Avalanche Summary

Look for and avoid wet snow on steep slopes at all elevations. You are most likely to trigger a large wet avalanche on steep, rocky slopes sheltered from the wind. Start and end your day early to reduce your risk. If you head out early in the morning and don't find supportable melt-freeze crusts, stick to low-angle slopes or slopes without wet snow.
