Points saillants
At the mid and upper elevations DANGEROUS slabs up to four feet in depth lie upon unstable layers of faceted snow. These slabs continue to be triggered by skiers. On Monday a fatality ocurred in the South Badger Creek drainage of the Jedediah Smith Wilderness on the west side of the Tetons when the third skier across an avalanche path triggered a two foot deep slab. Similar events are likely to be triggered today. At the lower elevations slabs up to three feet in depth could be triggered on steep avalanche prone terrain.
