Points saillants
At the upper elevations pockets of soft slab up to one foot in depth exist in the wind loaded starting zones of known avalanche paths. These slabs are resting on slick surfaces and could be triggered by backcountry users. On cold shaded aspects these slabs have the potential to step down to a weak layer of faceted snow at the base of the snowpack on the ground. At mid and lower elevation isolated pockets of shallow soft slab could be triggered in steep wind loaded starting zones in areas of the region that have received more snowfall.
