Points saillants

Very strong winds from the South to Southwest have accompanied over two feet of new snow in the mountains during this storm. Sensitive surface slabs to greater than three feet in depth at the mid and high elevations and to two feet in depth at the low elevations will be easily triggered by backcountry skiers, boarders and riders. At the mid and high elevations these slabs may release deeper slides on a weak layer of snow near the base of the snowpack, particularly on Northerly slopes. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED TODAY. Yesterday WYDOT was able to trigger avalanches in Glory Bowl, Twin Slides, Cow of the Woods , and Milepost 151.
