Points saillants

The hazard will increase today as rising air temperatures and sunshine combine to warm and soften the snow surface. The potential to trigger slab avalanches and wet slides on steep slopes will increase as the day warms. Yesterday pinwheels and loose wet slides were observed on steep sunlit aspects. Similar events are possible today. The hazard from snow falling off very steep slopes and cliffs could be significant especially in the highest areas of the Tetons. Avoid sunlit cliff areas, steep snow covered slopes and the runout zones beneath them after significant warming has occured.
